Certification is an aid in identifying the scope and level of a technician's competency. HVAC Excellence offers progressive levels of certification that identify knowledge and skill levels of individual’s through each phase of their career. Employment Ready Certifications are utilized by post secondary schools, JATC programs, wholesalers, utilities and other groups to identify individuals who have successfully attained the knowledge necessary to enter the HVACR workforce. The United States Department of Education “Blueprint for Transforming Career and Technical Education” (a Perkins update) ties accountability to funding. Graduates will verify they have the skills necessary for employment through attaining; industry certifications, licenses and certificates. When a program agrees to receive Perkins funds, they agree to provide certifications that demonstrate a student has the retained knowledge necessary for employment in the HVACR industry. Employment Ready Certifications Employment Ready Certifications are a series of discipline specific, comprehensive certification exams that validate a person’s retained knowledge in that discipline necessary for employment in the HVACR industry. These end of course exams validate individuals have successfully attained the knowledge necessary to enter the HVACR workforce. Areas of Certification: Electrical Light Commercial Air Conditioning Gas Heat Electric Heat Oil Heat Air Conditioning Heat Pump Basic Refrigeration & Charging Procedures Residential & Light Commercial Hydronic Heat Carbon Monoxide System Diagnostics & Troubleshooting Fuel Oil Combustion Natural Gas Combustion Combustion Appliance Zone Carbon Monoxide & Combustion Analysis Light Commercial Refrigeration Persons who successfully pass these exams are awarded a certificate of achievement and a truck decal.
